Intermission, Sunday 6th November: Manly

Alex had to go to a representative soccer trial this morning, so Hugh went by Ferry to Manly beach.  Took the opportunity to take some pictures of the  route we will have to walk along the north of the harbour in about a month from now.

It was a beautiful day, 28 centigrade in town. Caught the 0840 ferry from Circular Quay.

As the ferry progresses up the harbour, take a closer look at Bradley’s Point and the area just beyond. This will have to be negotiated on the way to Balmoral in Middle Harbour.

Then, pictures of the headland on the far side of Balmoral and beyond the spit. I think this is the old quarantine station. There is clearly a walkway and lookout area on the headland. It is clear from looking at this that the walk along the north shore of the harbour is going to be longer than I originally anticipated.

Also, on the way back from the beach, took some pictures of South Head (next weekend) and North Head (maybe four weeks from now).
